Bobby was born in Honolulu Hawaii at Queens Hospital In October of 1955 to his Mother Pearl D. Rimando. The Rimando's lived in the Kalihi district on Oahu.
Bobby has a lot of extended family in Hawaii and has many great memories of his childhood. His extended family includes the Magno, Arceze, Sinico and Madalora families.
The Rimando family started moving to the mainland in the mid 1960s, they are located all over California, however the majority are located in northern California. They can also be found in Seattle, New York, Utah, North Carolina and as far as the Philippines.
The 1st Rimandos that migrated to the US did so in the 1920's. The Rimandos are a strong people. Many of them grew up separate from their immediate families due to marriage and migrating to other areas in the United States but the neat thing about this is they have common denominators. These are Martial arts, Music, Dance, and Art. They are independent, to themselves, and disciplined, some would say hard headed, but they have a deep passion for life.
In 1970 Bobby signed up with the Marines at age 15; he loved his new life in the Corp. In 1971 he was in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He was on leave for his birthday when the accident happened. He spent a year in the hospital and the only real regret he had was that he wasn't able to stay in the marines.
This would have been very traumatic to most people but, knowing the family history, Bobby had quite a troublesome late childhood. So in his words he adapted and carried on with his life.
Bobby has overcome a lot in his travels in life; he is most known for his Martial Arts background as well as his musical accomplishments.
Bobby possesses the title to 7th degree Sigung in Kajukenbo. He received his 7th degree Sigung Black belt titles from his Uncle Alex Rimando and by Grand master Max Togasalis in 2010. He received his blessings from Grand Master Allen Reyes, Grand Master Lucky Lucieano, and Professor Al Rimando. Sijo Adriano Emperado also signed his certificate.
Sigung Bobby Rimando has the following to say: "I am truly blessed by having the love and support of so many predominate Martial Artists. People I grew up knowing about because of their legendary accomplishments.
